W-Beam Barrier Components
A complete highway guardrail system consists of multiple engineered components working together
W-Beam Rails
The primary energy-absorbing element, a standard straight length corrugated sheet metal beam rail supplied hot dip galvanized.
Cold Rolled Channel Posts
Cold Rolled Channel vertical posts anchor the barrier to the ground, hot dip galvanized and spaced at 2 mtr centre to centre.
Spacer Channel
The spacer channel fixes the metal beam rail to the vertical post, maintaining the required offset for proper vehicle interaction during impact.
Fasteners
All nuts, bolts and fitments connecting rails to posts, hot dip galvanized to conform to IS 1367.
Spacer Types
| Spacer Type | Material | Size | Application |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spacer Channel | Hot dip galvanized steel | 150 x 75 x 5 mm after galvanizing, 330mm long | As per MoRTH Clause 810 |
Fastener Specifications
| Component | Specification | Standard |
|---|---|---|
| Nuts & Bolts | As per IS 1367 | IS 1367 |
